ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Are you hungry to get started programming on your own but don’t know where to start? Are you itching to talk the talk? Are you building a website and want guidelines for working with developers? This workshop is for you.
The instructor will provide an overview of the core concepts necessary to transform your ideas into concrete web designs. We’ll look at questions like “What is the difference between Front-end vs. Back-end?”, “What is HTML5 and how is it used?”, “Are those web frameworks necessary for my project, and how to choose between them?” We will be both reading and writing code.
PREREQS & PREPARATION
None. No coding experience is required, but students must bring their own computer to class.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR(S)

Thomas Mak, also known as Makzan, is a developer with a specialty on web development and game design. He has over ten years of experience building digital products, including real-time multiplayer interaction games and iOS applications. He wrote two books and one screencast series for building Flash virtual world and making games with HTML5 and related web standard. He is currently a founder of a games development company, 42games, as well as a trainer for an international web design competition.
